Im just staring p90x, i’m at the same level you were at when you started (150 ish lbs with 15/16% body fat).
I was wondering if you could maybe give me a couple examples of your nutrition log during those weeks because i want to make the same gains, you look pretty good and I dont want to look like Nick.

Hi! i have a question. ok so im doing this right now and i started this week [not the 1st time ive done p90x, but the first with super strict diet], im on winter break from college and i was wondering, how can i maintain my nutrition while having to eat cafeteria food in school? like i mean i cant get eggwhites at school etc.
@Ryan T: You will have to modify a bit and do the best you can. There are healthier choices you can make everywhere. Refer to pages 16-17 as to which foods you should eat. That will help you to determine the proper proteins/carbs/fats. You can have eggs for breakfast with whole grain toast. For lunch try to base it around a salad and protein. For dinner base it around Veggies and protein with a complex carb. As for snacks try to get at least 20grams of protein. Greek yogurt, string cheese + Apple, P90X protein bar, Protein shake, etc. Hit me up if you have more questions.

Hi! Im thinking of starting P90x very soon, but only taking the whey protein supplement, how long will it be until i see clear results? I mean, are the workouts extremely intense?
@Darren Q: The workouts are pretty intense. My advise is to do your best and modify the exercises you have trouble with. The more you do the program the more you will be able to do. I have seen people get results right away and others it take weeks. It all depends how consistent you stick with the schedule and how well you stick to the diet plan. Hey, im about to start p90x and im wondering if p90x is going to help me gain muscle mass since i weight 140lbs and im 5’10. i mean ive seen alot of vids of ppl losing weight but i havent seen any of slim guys packing muscle.. What do you think?
@Shawn: P90X can definitely help you gain muscle mass. I gained 10 lbs while doing the first 90 days of P90X and lost body fat. @David: Jet Fuel Pyro is more of a Fat burning supplement than it is a pre workout but it will definitely give you energy. If you like that brand then try looking up JetFUSE NOX. That is their “pre-workout” that should be what your looking for. Other wise check out some of my pre-workout reviews.
Hey, what amount of protein did you take during ur 90 days. I know in ” P90X Nutrition Guide” it says 50 30 20 for phase 1
40 40 20 for phase 2 and 20 60 20 for phase 3 but I want to know ur protein, carbs and fat intake.

@Sam: During my first 90 days I ate around 2400 calories/day. I did 50/30/20 for 30 days and 40/40/20 the rest of the time. Breaking it down for 50/30/20, that is 300g protein, 180g carbs, 54g fat. For 40/40/20 it is 240g protein, 240 g carbs, 54 g fat.
@Spencer: Yes I did follow fat shredder for 30 days, I was out level 2.

I am not able to eat 50% of protein in one day, but I try to eat much(Protein) as I can. how many times do you drink you protein shake/powder because I think most people get their protein from the supplements. So do you get most of your protein from supplements or food ?
@Sam: Most people shouldn’t get most of their protein from supplements. I drink 2 protein shakes per day, but that definitely is not most of my protein source. Try playing around with your portions. If your only eating 4oz of chicken make it 6oz for example.
So would you mind putting the food you eat during the day( with the number of grams of protein, carbs, and fat), because I read that your body can only use about 30 to 35(g) protein per certain hours, and If you eat more than It’s going to stored as fat Is that true. If not how many times should I eat In a day and how much protein per certain hours.

hey sean, i have a question.
im planning on doing insanity and p90x starting january.
but i was wondering if i can do insanity in the morning for cardio, and p90x in the afternoon for muscle.?
@Geovanni: Nope, definitely don’t do 2 workouts/day. You will want to do P90X resistance workouts on Monday, Wed, Friday and Insanity workouts Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and take a rest day Sunday. Doing Insanity + P90X on the same day will just lead to overtraining and you wont build any muscle. Remember that you need your body to recover. Recovery is when your body actually repairs and rebuild the muscle that you broke down during your workouts.
Hey sean, quik question…im 17 about 6 foot and weigh 143 pounds..ibe been doing p90x for 38 days now…feel better,stronger,healthier …but the one thing is my abs are not at the point i want them to be…will it take more time for them to come through? im currently trying to eat 2400cals a day on a 40/40/20 p/c/f…shud i lower or raise my cals?…change the ratio up?…my main goals are to build lean muscle mass and have a pack of abs like yurs lol! yur advice wud be nice ..THnx!
@Chris: Congrats on your progress so far man! By day 38 you are just starting to feel the benefits of muscle confusion. Typically people see the greatest results between day 60-90. From a glance, it sounds like you are eating enough calories and have good ratios. I would stay the course man. The more consistent you are while going through the program the greater your results will be.
thanx for the input man! just another quik question…did u take any supplements? i.e creatine, pre work out? if so what wud you recommend?
@Chris: Yes I did take a whey protein powder, the P90X Recovery drink, and Omega 3s. I now take creatine on and off and E&E pre workout. I also take Shakeology as my multivitamin and a snack. Shakeology is my favorite supplement that I take.
yea i just got shakeology its delicious! what kind of creatine do you take? like Monohydrate,HCL,kre-alkalyn?
@Chris: Glad you like it! I have tried every creatine. I prefer Monohydrate or Kre-Alkalyn.
Kool man! one last question(sorry for all the questions here!) did u take the creatine while doing ur 90 days? or after the 90?
@Chris: I did it after my first 90 days. I only recommend adding Creatine into your plan after phase 1 if you so choose.

hey sean on day 4 of the recovery week is X stretch , can u sub it out for say a Cardio X or just do the x stretch??
@Chris: I would take a full rest day but if you really want to do a little something than Cardio X would be the way to go.
