I may have finally found a great protein bar in QuestBar. Finding a healthy protein bar is like finding a needle in a haystack. Most bars are full of sugar, salt, and fillers that are just not healthy. I have been on a “Quest”, if you will, to find a good clean, healthy protein bar for some time now. I am out and about a lot during the day so it can be difficult to eat healthy, getting a good amount of quality protein, complex carbs and healthy fat. One thing that you may have noticed on my diet is that I do eat protein bars to help get me through the day. This not only helps me to keep to my 5-6 meals per day but it also helps me to hit my caloric intake that I need for my goals while doing P90X. One problem…finding a bar that will actually work for me instead of against me. Does QuestBar do the trick?
This is probably the most important category when it comes to protein bars. Typically an ingredient list in protein bars read like a science experiment, but that is NOT the case with QuestBar. Each bar has 20 grams of High Quality protein (Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate), Very low in non-fiber carbs, extremly short label (5-6 ingredients) and is made up of actual healthy foods. Oh and it’s Gluten and Soy Free! Not bad uh? These bars are very low in sugar and contain a ton of fiber. The main fiber source is from IMO fiber (Isomalto-Oligosaccharide), which is a plant sourced fiber that is similar to chicory root fiber, except that it doesn’t cause any upset stomach. This leaves you feeling full after you eat it. They also contain Almond and Peanut Butters, depending on the flavor. You might even see chunks of these nuts in the bar. The bars are sweetened with Lo Han Guo, which works as and antioxidant and help support the immune system. The low-glycemic nature of Luo Han guo helps maintain health blood sugar levels and aids in weight loss, as well as Stevia. Which is a natural plant based sweetener. 6 of the flavors use a little bit of sucralose but if you are not a fan of sucrlose, they have recently come out with 5 new all natural line of flavors that have zero in them. They use erythritol instead, which is a sugar alcohol that doesn’t upset your stomach or impact your blood sugar. Each bar is around 170-200 calories as well. Which fits into anyone’s diet.
Rating: 10/10 (one of the cleanest protein bars that I have found)
For me this is what makes the bars so great. The tastes are absolutely awesome. With 11 flavors you might thing that one would not quite hit the mark but honestly, I love them all. I can guarantee that you will find a flavor that you love. They are very wide ranging as well. They have things basic like Vanilla Almond and Peanut Butter Supreme, and they have different ones you might not see like Peanut butter and Jelly, and Cinnamon Roll (two of my favorites). Here’s another little tip. Since these bars aren’t covered in chocolate, you can microwave them and they taste like cookies that just came out of the oven! Even if you leave it in a hot car for a few mins, there is nothing like having one of these bars warmed up. Try it!

I have been using QuestBars for months now. I have been very impressed that I have been able to get high quality protein and remain full for hours with these bars. They have helped me when I have been cutting down as well as when I have been building muscle. They are as effective as any protein bar that I have had. The only thing that I wouldn’t do is eat more than 1 per day. The fiber tends to bind you up if you already eat fairly healthy and get enough fiber as it is.

Well that sounded more like a fan page then a review didn’t it? Honestly, there isn’t much bad to say about QuestBars. They have a 99.5% natural line, which has sucarlose(splenda), and a 100% natural line that uses stevia. They are clean, filling, taste great and will help you with your fitness goals on the road or when you need a quick snack. And at $2 per bar, you really can’t go wrong here. These bars are by far the best tasting, clean protein bars I have seen on the market. I don’t know how they do it. They are really something to try for yourself and see if you like them. At roughly 20 grams of protein and 20-25 grams of carbs, 17 grams of fiber and very low sugar, it should fit into your diet very well. The fat comes from good healthy fat sources and the bars fill you up for hours. QuestBar is hitting it out of the park and they are truly doing things with the consumer in mind.
